Health Insurance May Cover Your Visits
At Allergy Nutritionist, we are dedicated to enhancing accessibility and affordability in healthcare. Most insurance policies cover nutrition counseling as a plan benefit, however, coverage can vary between insurance policies.
We are in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and United Healthcare.

If you have out-of-network insurance coverage, we can provide you with a "superbill" or itemized invoice for you to seek reimbursement from your insurance company based on our standard rates. We suggest contacting your insurance company to better understand your out-of-network benefits.

Verifying Insurance Benefits
If you plan to use health insurance for sessions, please contact your insurance provider prior to starting nutrition counseling to confirm coverage and avoid unexpected costs. While most insurance plans offer unlimited benefits for medical nutrition therapy, coverage can widely based on your specific policy, diagnosis, and provider network.
Verifying this information in advance helps ensure that you understand any potential out-of-pocket responsibilities such as copays, deductibles, session limits, or the need for a referral. Note: If insurance declines to cover your visit(s) for any reason, you are responsible for the full amount billed.

When verifying information, please reference the below CPT ("procedure") codes we use for nutrition counseling:
> 97802 - initial nutrition counseling session
> 97803 - follow up nutrition counseling session

We have compiled a list of suggested questions to ask your insurance company.
